So today is December 13th which is special for 2 reasons: 1) it is Jack-Jack's Birthday and 2) it's Santa Lucia day! As we haven't celebrated Jax's b-day (not until Sunday when Aunt Yelena and Uncle Kris visit) I will tell you about Santa Lucia Day today.
So this summer Lorén read the American Girl Doll Book Kirsten. She fell in love with the idea of Santa Lucia. She asked me if we could celebrate it. I said, "Why not!!??" So for 6 months she planned for this day. We ordered a
Krumkake maker and last night made a few batches of Krumkakes. Then this morning, we got up at 5:00 and got her ready!

In the tradition, the eldest daughter serves breakfast in bed to her family while singing a song. She wears a wreath of lighted candles upon her head. Lorén memorized the entire song (in English) and sang it to her daddy and her brothers while she delivered breakfast to them in bed. BTW - Krumkakes are AMAZING!

 |
| Baby Birthday Boy heard the noise and joined his daddy in bed to hear Santa Lucia. |

| Zach was a bit confused! |
 |
| And she surprised Grandma and sang to her |
And Lorén was very lucky to get to share our tradition with her school! She was allowed to bring Krumkakes to share with the class (I made flat ones rather than cones b/c they are very fragile. They are going to top them with the filling later)

| And of course Art Noel wanted to celebrate Santa Lucia Day too!! |
