Meanest Mommy EVER

Seriously! Look at this face:

We are talking MAD AS A HORNET! And what, may you ask did I do to deserve this anger?
Why I wouldn't let him continue to do this:

I also made Zach do yard work with daddy:

And I made Loren read her book to her brother TWO TIMES!

And to top it off, I put a hit out on this:
Can you tell what it has in its mouth? Yes, that's right! One of my tomatoes! You know how many tomatoes I've had this year? 2. Why? This little _______ has stolen every one.

It's hard work to be this mean. I tell you what!

Just some Rozema Family Fun

So this week marked the second full week of school. About three things I'm sure of: 1) I love the kids going to a Christian school full of Christ centered learning. I LOVE that the children are openly taught, loved and fulfilled in Christ via every facet of their learning. I love that the friends they keep have the same morals and values being instilled in them at home. I LOVE that my children come home telling me Bible stories and Biblical applications in other avenues of their learning. It is a huge rich blessing! I'm grateful to the Lord that he has allowed us to give Christian Education to our children! 2) Jax misses his big brother and sister when they are gone! That baby crawls around the house yelling for them. He even goes to the bottom of the stairs and hollers up to his siblings. I think he's convinced that I have them hidden away in time-out somewhere! 3) Zach and Lorén must use up all of their good in school because when they get home, I have to send them outside to get their squabbling-wild-no-good-butts out of my personal space before I start to turn gray-haired!!

This week, Zach had to dress up every day! His "heros" are Mario and Luigi and Dash from The Incredible's. Every day when he gets home from school he transforms for the rest of the evening!

Lorén got to dress up this week as well! She got to be the mascot in her school chapel. She was dressed in the Armor of God. She LOVED! it! I was so thankful that Grandma J and I were able to go and watch. At the end of Chapel she goes, "So, mommy, how do you think it went?" Why do my kids have to grow up?

Of course, Jax had to chew on the shield of faith!

She was so proud and brave!

And finally, watch out world, JAX IS A FURNITURE, WALL, YOU-NAME-IT CRUISER! This boy will be walking by 9 months. His siblings at least had the decency to wait until 10 months. sigh. . . He MUST keep up with the older kids! He simply MUST!
One day he will say: Why did you always dress me like an old man?

And Lorén, Why Such a Big Smile?

Yes dear, it's a beautiful smile!

Wait what is missing?

Oh, right there! I see, you have lost your first tooth! Congratulations darling!

I must say that last night it was a BLAST to sneak into her room, find that tooth (that I put in a baggie - YUCK), take it out and replace it with a $1! This morning I hear, "MOM! YOU'VE GOT TO COME SEE THIS! The Tooth Fairy took my tooth and she left me a dollar!"

Oh, and guess what. . .she pulled it out herself! Thank goodness! I was not looking forward to that job in my Mommy Job Description. Gag!

While the Big Kids Are Away

Jax must play! With no older siblings here, there is no one to fight with over who gets to lick the spoon! Marshmallow Creme. . .Yum-O!

So I hardly know what to do with myself having only 1 kid in the house! Especially one that still takes 2 naps per day! I was a cleaning-baking-exercising-photographer today! I've already made dinner: Garlic Roast Chicken with Rosemary and Lemon, Tomato Salad with Crushed Croutons and Pan-Roasted Brussels Sprouts. I've also made a pound cake with Key Lime Cheesecake Dip, Pesto Cheese Triangles, and Homemade Pico de Gallo. Not to mention I've already done my 45 minutes on the elliptical, 2 loads of laundry folded and put away and swept/mopped the kitchen. I'm good! Okay, I may need a nap too!

PS Getting Marshmallow Creme off of a wiggly 8 month old is not fun! Little cuss had it in his hair even :) At least he enjoyed it!

Kindergarten and Pre-School

I can't believe that both of my older two are BIG KIDS today! You know, I actually was fine all morning. We had a nice breakfast as a family, Mike got to pray with the kids and encourage them before heading off to work. I dropped both of them off without so much as a tear. Then, I got in the car and the water works began. I just couldn't believe that time has flown by this quickly! That my daughter is a Kindergartener! Zach is in Pre-school! Wow! Life is very very good!

Another Week of Firsts

This week was a fun week! My best friend from High School came over with her kids a few days this week. Lorén and Kaylee are a few months apart in age, Zach and Tyler are a few months apart in age and Jax and Alex are about 10 months apart. It was funny that every time Jessie called to tell me she was pregnant, I was too! It's really fun to have kids the same sex and same age. They play really well together. In fact, Kaylee got to spend the night with Lorén! They watched Rapunzel, ate ice-cream and giggled until 10:00. It reminded me of Jess and I . . .

Lorén got to go to summer camp as well this week. It was Mad Science week. She spent the week doing experiments. She even got to volunteer during an experiment with the Mad Scientist. Lorén also got her first loose tooth! She came down yelling, "My tooth is wiggly!"

This is the doll she took to nap with every day at camp. It was my doll when I was a baby.

Jax had a big week too! He finally learned to crawl forwards (although backwards seems to be the preferred method). He is also doing much better getting food into his mouth. He doesn't choke quite so often. He actually prefers to feed himself. Finally, Jax pulled up for the first time. I happened to get it on camera!

And finally Zach! Zach got to start Karate this week! I found a Sensei who has a 3/4/5 year old class. Zach and Charlie got to do it together. They had so much fun! Zach actually did VERY well! Next week he gets to wear his uniform for the first time! Exciting! My Little Dragon!
