That's Our Boy!

I took Mr. Man in today for his 9 month appointment and I quote: "Well little man, you get the prize for the biggest 9 month old I've seen today!"

Our sweetheart is 32 inches long and 27 lbs! I mean the boy is literally 5lbs lighter than his 2 year old sister! He's just a tank! He's so strong! He can literally lift his play tables up and toss them!

He's been getting to do such big boy things lately too! We are starting to give him sippie cups for one of his bottles. He does well with it. He'll drink about 4oz out of it before he's had enough.
Question: Considering my daughter did not take a sippie until she was 18 months. . .What did you do with the formula left over from the sippie when they were "finished" with it? Did you put it in a bottle to finish? Is it okay in the fridge for a while? Just curious because I don't want to waste formula. It's really too expensive to just keep tossing.

As far as Lorén goes, she's a real sweetie-peetie-stubborn 2 year old! I bought her a Life Size Strawberry Shortcake doll. She's been carrying it around for the last couple of weeks. She loves it! She calls her "My best friend!" She carries her everywhere! She likes to have her sit on her lap in the car, she lays on her in the shopping carts, she talks to her and reads her books. It is awesome! I can't let her go Night-Night with Strawberry because she talks to her until 10:00 p.m. (not that I would know that!) Also, I'm happy to report that there have been 4 times that I couldn't find Lorén. Guess where she was: THE POTTY! She was going by herself!!!!!!

Okay, here's what you really want: The pictures . . . I'm no idiot! Shut up. . .

Momma Strawberry and I are jumping on the TRAMPOLINA!
Schwinging on the swing set with Strawberry Shortcake!!!

I love my Best Friend!

Mommy, my best friend and I are coloring pictures about horses and bugs.

My big boy!

Trying to learn how to use my sippy cup. I'm not good at tipping it yet. I'm trying to learn.

I love this face! It's classic! He was eating those Gerber puffy things. It's funny how his contorts! Classic!

Mommy I want to feed my sister a cheezo. Umm. . . yeah, we need to work on who is the sister and who is the brother. She gets her words confused. . .it's kind of cute.

Open wide Zachary.

Now that's love!

Jenni D. - Just for you!!

First of all it was beyond awesome to hang out with you! For anyone who knows her (see my blog list) she is beyond beautiful as a pregnant woman! I mean she is GORGEOUS! I can't wait to see you on Sat. for your shower!

Secondly. . .I LOVE SUSHI! It was rocking! I really liked the California Rolls! We had tempora (sp?) vegetables, eel, tuna, a St. Louis and this one that was wrapped in Avocado and had eel and crab. I mean seriously, I couldn't believe it Jen! I almost laughed out loud! I . . .of all people. . .liked Sushi!

Kris, thank you so much for treating Mike and I to a wonderful meal! Yelena, no on else on EARTH has ever convinced me to go NEAR that stuff and you did it! You must be special!
Hugs to both of you!

Projects

I've decided to begin praying the Bible over myself and children! I have been blessed to have a wonderful mentor, Barbara, who has been coming over every week to bless my home! She's given me so many ideas. This was one of them!

I've been discouraged lately about the frustrations of raising a teething 8 month old and a stubborn 2 year old (takes after her father ;) )! They are such a blessings! Shell is a wonderful daughter. . .however, sometimes (as anyone who has kids can attest) being 2 years old is TOUGH . . .so is dealing with one! Anyway, Barbara gave me this verse to mediate on this week and it's been an awesome blessing!

I hope it touches you as it has touched me!

Play: How to catch a boy!

The Actors: Lorén and Luke
Scene 1 - The meeting
Luke is sitting quietly tasting his mom's mac 'n cheese at our 4th of July Block Party. Lorén, having just got her face painted comes up to introduce herself to Luke.
Scene 2 - Rope Him
Lorén and Luke both find a jump rope. Their moms try to teach them to jump over it. The two 2 year olds quickly decide that it is not as fun as the game of "Drag Luke Around By the Jump Rope."

Scene 3 - Be Patriotic
What could be more fun than marching down the street in a Post-Parade Parade (did you follow that?). Lorén and Luke wave their flags and wave to all of the spectators who proudly are yelling, "Ohhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Oh my goodness, have you ever seen anything so cute"

Scene 4 - Make Him Laugh
Lorén and Luke show off their 2 year old skills by jumping up and down and laughing together. They yell together, "ONE. . .TWO. . .THREE. . .JUMP." Fun is being had by both 2 year-olds and all spectators. Who knew that the 4th came with such adorable and free entertainment!

Scene 5 - Best Buddy Love is Formed
Lorén gives Luke a hug good-bye and they thank each other for a fantastic day of fun and play. Luke is upset to have his friend leave him.

So they walk off into the sunset together. . .or better known as "RUN AWAY FROM THE MOMS BECAUSE THEY ARE TRYING TO TAKE US HOME TO BED!!!"

First Haircut

Zachary's hair was starting to look like a bad comb-over. I cut Mike's hair and he then insisted that we cut Zach's hair. I buzz a mean haircut! Zach did pretty good! It was funny to watch him try to get the buzzer. Mike ended up having to grip his head while I buzzed. Personally I think he looks pretty handsome! Good job mommy and daddy! I'm not too sure about this.

What is daddy doing to me and why can't I eat the buzzer?

All done! Aren't I cute?
