First Day of School

When I came down this morning, Mike had written notes to the kids before walking out the door *at 4:30 am*  I was surprised and so proud that my children have such a loving dedicated wonderful father!
Daddy's note to LorénLorén says, "Mommy, I simply can't read this.  It's too messy."  I then read it to her and she says, "How did you read that?  Oh yeah, you taught first grade and you can read messy writing!"

New Shoes that light up!  Oh ah!

I got up at 5:00 to make them a super yummy breakfast!  They got Strawberries and Cream pancakes ( made with buttermilk and whipped egg whites).

1st Grader, Pre-Kindergartener and the little brother who REALLY missed his siblings today!

New Star Wars Backpack

His favorite part of the day was Snack time and Recess.  He did tell me he played some game where he put bubblegum on his shoe and sang a song.  I hope it was a classroom activity and not a gross made up game outside! You never know with him!

First Grade girl - Her favorite thing was playing animals outside with her friends.  She told me about a funny book she read and figuring out that she spells my name "K*I*M*B*E*R*L*Y"  "At first I spelled 'Kim' and then I figured out 'berly.'"  Lovely.

I just love this picture!

Lorén's Hello Kitty Backpack.  Are you shocked?

Let's Go!  Enough pictures already!

With Dr. Sandfort our WONDERFUL principal.

Lorén and her teacher Mrs. Smith.  This is Mrs. Smith first year here at Child of God.  We are so happy with her and are excited for a new year!

Zach with Mrs. Huning.  Mrs. Huning is a wonderful loving teacher.  She was so excited to see Zach and welcome him into the room.

Zach got right to "work" in the building and cars center.  It tore my heart out to just leave him but he was READY for me to leave so he could get busy learning!!

Best 4th of July Ever!

We celebrated the 4th of July at my Parents house.  It was the best 4th of July I can remember!  Thanks Mom and Dad for hosting, for the memories, and for not killing me for the burn marks on your sidewalk!

4th of July Shirts!  I was so proud of the Hello Kitty one and the Awesome Spiderman one!  Jax is wearing the shirt I bought for Zach on his first 4th of July.  And yes, we are the hoosier parents who let their son run around without pants.  It was 109 that day.  Can you blame us?
4th fun!  I LOVED being able to snuggle Jax while the kids did smoke bombs, rode bikes and watched toothpaste explode.  Dad made awesome Pork Steaks for us!

Zach was pretending to "fart" the smoke gas and he stepped on a smoke bomb.  Yes, mother of the year didn't have him in shoes. . .really, who gets hurt from smoke bombs, right?  (hanging my head in shame)

The kids LOVED those snap things.  They kept trying to get me to squeeze them to make it pop and I was too scared!  Mike kept throwing them at me and I would scream like a girl!  Oh well :)

It was awesome to see Jax enjoy this 4th!!

She still hasn't figured it out.  We keep practicing though.

My beloved boy!

Yes, I snapped pictures as he fell.  I'm that kind of mom.  Ps he was fine!

There is nothing like the first sparkler of the night.  It wasn't dark enough yet but Lorén just couldn't wait any more!

Our parents neighbors invited us for a late-night swim to cool off before the real festivities began.  There was no suit for Lorén but she was able to rock out some styl'n boys clothes to swim in.  She is such a huge help to us!  She wrangled Jax so we could get him changed.  As you can see, he was thrilled.

Nothing like swimming in the dark!

Happy 4th of July all!
